![]() Acupuncture & Herbal MedicineMany different styles of acupuncture exist today. Most practitioners in this country attended TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) schools, as did I. Over time I came to realize that TCM’s strength is Chinese Herbology, but that “herbalized” acupuncture was not addressing my patient’s needs effectively. Fortunately, I discovered Dr. Richard Tan, an amazing acupuncturist from San Diego via Taiwan who is leading many acupuncturists back to its historical roots as a system rooted in ancient philosophy and cosmology. Dr. Tan’s system, The Balance Method, restores the body-mind to harmony and balance. Patients love this technique because they feel more relaxed, and fewer, thinner needles are used than in TCM. My style might be called eclectic as I have incorporated elements of Japanese Meridian Therapy and Five Element acupuncture into the Balance Method. In addition I have studied Korean Hand Therapy, and cranial sacral therapy with Hugh Miln and the Upledger Institute. I love my work and I love to learn, so you can count on me to continually try new techniques. When pain is an issue I use Auriculotherapy which treats the whole body by using micro-current stimulation of the ear. This revolutionary technique erases pain in seconds! Call for a free brochure. As far as Chinese herbs, I follow the academic tradition of TCM. China leads the world in research and clinical studies of Chinese herbs and formulas, and their constituent parts. My goal is to help my clients achieve their health goals. I strongly believe we are all capable of change, and sometimes we just need a little support and help a long our path. Wellness AcupunctureWellness or holistic acupuncture places an emphasis on working with and developing the patient's understanding of health and illness. Practitioners strive to unite the physical components of treatment with emotional and spiritual factors.Recent studies have shown five meaning shifts manifested in letters from successful acupuncture patients, as follows: 1. From a goal of fixing the problem to a goal of increasing health 2. From symptoms as problems to symptoms as teachers 3. From healing as passive to healing as active 4. From being dominated by the illness to moving beyond the illness 5. From regarding the practitioner as technician to regarding the practitioner as healer or friend. When the amethyst is heated, it emits long wave infrared rays that penetrate the body 5.5 to 6 inches, not just the surface. As a result, greater ranges of heat can be used. The rays not only benefit the muscles on the surface of the body but all cells including blood vessels, lymph glands and nerves in the deep parts of our body. These rays vitalize the biological function of our cells and increase circulation, relieve neuralgia, backache, arthritis pain, eliminate toxins and carbon dioxide from our blood, and perform an antibacterial function.Click here for more BioMat Information (PDF) FDA Registered MEDICAL DEVICE LISTING: B064498 MEDICAL DEVICE ESTABLISHMENT: 2954 |
